At Cook County Saloon, we're proud to have been a part of the Alberta country music scene for the past 43 years. We've always believed in supporting local and national artists, providing a venue for them to showcase their talent and connect with their fans.

Steeped in the tradition of family band bluegrass and swayed by modern country-rock fusion, Julia Vos hit the Alberta music scene with a fiery spirit in 2019. Taking the city by storm in 2018 with a victory at the Nashville North Star Search in Calgary 2019 and solidifying her position as “local star” with her catchy singles, 'Whiskey Promise' and her sophomore single later that year titled 'Abyss' positioned Julia as a serious independent artist choice across Alberta and BC, and left a lasting impression in Idaho, Arizona and Nevada during her second West Coast swing.

Julia has been on a relentless exploration with her approach and exceptional ear for music. With her powerful yet soft approach, she’s refined her production quality with hard-hitting lyrics, catchy hooks and live performance quality compared to award-winning band The Grove with grants amongst Good for a Rainy Day, Brad Travis, Judd, and Donovon. She has great songs with powerful hits taking the Calgary Stampede, the CCMA, Boots & Hearts, Big Valley, and Nashville Alley by storm.

After a two-year hiatus and a new EP set to release in 2024, Julia was selected as a headline feature for five years after which under a high horse threshold she was celebrated among fans for multi-genre entertainer. In 2023, Julia’s love for energy sets with such clean tones won her third performance nomination where she was invited to the country Alberta Music Awards.
