At Cook County Saloon, we're proud to have been a part of the Alberta country music scene for the past 43 years. We've always believed in supporting local and national artists, providing a venue for them to showcase their talent and connect with their fans.
Born and raised in Alberta, Robert Gosse is a passionate Canadian country music artist with deep roots in Newfoundland. Inspired by his father, Bobby, a fixture in Calgary’s country scene for over 40 years, Robert embraces a modern contemporary sound while keeping it "country and classy."
Since starting his musical journey in 2011, he has performed in iconic venues like Ranchmans Calgary and Big Al’s Bar and Grill. His first single, "Blackjack," recorded in 2018 at the acclaimed MCC Recording Studios, marked the beginning of his recording career.
A pivotal moment came in 2022 when he opened for renowned Canadian artists Gord Bamford and Aaron Goodvin during Ranchmans Calgary’s grand reopening, reigniting his passion for music. He recorded "Drink 'Em If You Got 'Em," featuring writers Buddy Owens, Timothy Baker, and Monty Holmes from the Gord Bamford catalogue.
His latest release, "Who's Running This Town," showcases a remarkable collaboration between MCC Recording Studios and Sony ATV in Nashville. Co-written by Aaron Goodvin, Olivia Rudeen, Aaron Schertz, and Greg Bates. The track has achieved over 75,000 streams on Spotify!
Robert has supported numerous charitable causes, including Zero Hungry Kids and the Alberta Children’s Hospital and closed the 2022 Country Thunder Alberta festival on the Country 105 stage. He has opened for a variety of Canadian country artists, including Gord Bamford, Aaron Goodvin, Matt Lang, Cory Marks, The Road Hammers, Tim Hicks, George Canyon, Meghan Patrick, Bobby Wills, Adam Gregory, Julian Austin, and Aaron Pritchett.
Robert continues to make his mark in the industry as he looks forward to his next release and second project with Aaron Goodvin and For the Record, titled "What You Got".
